All other students will take a written and oral placement test which enables us to find the appropriate level. More information on Italian language ability levels.

In Florence, Milan and Rome, each class has a maximum of 14 students. However, in Turin, the maximum number of students per class is 12.
Which books are used during the lessons?
Our text books and our exercises are developed by our school. In addition to these books, you will use other support materials such as newspaper and magazine articles, audiovisual materials and you will participate in the various activities in your lesson.
Are the teaching/educative materials included in the price of the course?
All books and other materials are provided by the school, but you must bring your own dictionary.
Which teaching method do you use?
SCUOLA LEONARDO DA VINCI teaches according to the Communicative Aproach Method: from the first day on, at all levels, only Italian will be spoken. The spoken language is the most important part of the tuition. Continually promoting the use of verbal communication permits you to learn Italian 'naturally', to unite theory and practice with no great problems and to increase your knowledge quickly and with confidence. You are encouraged to practice your spoken Italian in real-life situations, with your teacher, and with other participants, in pairs and groups. In advanced courses the written language will also be promoted. For more information about our methon please click here.
What is the qualification level of teachers?

What is the average age of the students at the school? I would be interested in a course which includes students aged 30 or over. Do you have courses which are suitable for different age groups?
60 % of our students are 17-30 years old and want to improve their knowledge, particularly of Italian, but also of Italian culture in general.
60% of our students already work, around 10 % are managers of projects and executives of different nationalities.
5 % are retired and want to improve their Italian and familiarize themselves with Italian culture.
Our students who are 30 years old or more feel completely at ease in our classes and enjoy meeting people that come from all over the world. In the more intensive courses and the courses in small groups, the average age is higher.
The Leonardo da Vinci school offers 6 different levels of course, from beginner to advanced.
Each ability level is made up of 20 lessons a week, for 4 weeks. If you have a talent for languages and you study correctly, it is possible to pass the beginner, basic, and intermediate levels in 12 weeks.
At the end of the intermediate level, you will already have a very good knowledge of Italian. You will feel much more at ease with the language and you will have mastered a wide range of different expressions. You will feel able to take the Leonardo da Vinci exam to obtain an Italian Language certificate and the DILI 'Firenze' Diploma from the Accademia di Lingua Italiana.
