Learning tips for beginners

Beginners’ lessons are conducted in Italian, but don’t panic! Hearing and experiencing the language is all a part of developing a basic knowledge of a new language. During the lessons, try not to use only logical thinking, or to understand each rule of the language – we will return to every point as you gain proficiency in using the vocabulary and participating in basic conversations. Try to relax, and think about what you want to say, and to understand what your classmates and teachers are saying. Let yourself go, and you will understand many things naturally as you participate in class activities.

Remember, learning a language is a bit like learning to ride a bicycle: we try to keep our balance but we don’t think about the physical laws of balance. Just keep pedaling!

During our free-time activities, you will be able to practice even more: our Italian coordinators will take you to parties, events, city tours and daytrips and you will then get the extra-chance to interact both with natives and with other students, practicing what you have learnt in class during your Beginner Italian language course, grasping in the meantime new structures and enriching your vocabulary. Teaching Method: A Step Ahead

We follow a communicative method: from the first day of lessons and at each ability level, only Italian is spoken in class. We put particular emphasis on spoken language and communication, but also deal with the 4 base abilities (reading, writing, oral comprehension, and speaking).
