We remind you that processing means any operation or set of operations, carried out with or without the use of automatic processes and applied to personal data or to the sets of personal data, such as collecting, recording, organising, structuring, retaining, adapting or modifying, extracting, using, communicating by transmission, dissemination or any other way of making them available, comparing or interconnecting, limiting, erasure or destruction (art. 4 GDPR).
1 - What are cookies?
Cookies are small size text files, sent to the User’s hard disk from a web page. They are stored on the hard disk of the computer, allowing the website to recognise the users and memorise certain information about them, in order to permit or improve the service provided.
There are various kinds of cookies. Some are needed to navigate the Website, others have different purposes, for example to guarantee internal security, manage the system, make statistical analyses, understand which sections of the Website interest users the most or offer a customised visit to the Website.
This Website uses cookies. The above refers both to the user’s computer and to any other device the user may employ to connect to the Website.
- Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used only in order to carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of a Company of information service explicitly requested by the subscriber or the user to provide this service.
They are not used for any other purpose and are normally installed directly by the owner or manager of the website.
They can be subdivided into navigation or session cookies, these guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate access to reserved areas); analytical cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself; functional cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the same. - Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are designed to create user profiles and are employed to send advertising messages in line with the preferences shown by the same whilst surfing the net.
Profiling cookies need consent by the data subject. According to regulation 229 of May 8, 2014, the user may permit or refuse consent to installing profiling cookies if present.
In case of third party cookies, the website has no direct control over individual cookies, and cannot control them (nor can it install them directly or delete them). However, one can manage these cookies through browser settings (follow the instructions below) or the websites listed in the section on “Cookie Management”.
Disabling cookies may make it impossible to use the Website and may prevent the user from benefiting in full from the functions and services on the Website. To decide which cookies to accept and which to refuse, here is a description of the cookies used on the Website.
2 -Kinds of cookies used
First party cookies
First party cookies (that is cookies which belong to the website of the publisher who created them) are set by the website visited by the user, the address of which appears in the URL window. Using such cookies will allow us to run the site efficiently and track visitors’ behaviour patterns.
Third party cookies
Third party cookies are set by a domain which is different from the one visited by the user. When a visitor visits a website and a different company sends information making use of that website, we have third party cookies.
Session cookies
So-called ‘session cookies’ are kept in a temporary memory and deleted when the user closes his browser. If the user registers at the website, he may use cookies which gather personal data in order to identify the user during following visits and facilitate access/login to the website (for example retaining username and password) and navigation in it. Scuola Leonardo da Vinci s.r.l. also uses cookies for system administration purposes. The website may contain links to other websites. Scuola Leonardo da Vinci s.r.l. has neither access to nor control over cookies, web beacons or other tracking technologies used on third party websites which the user may access from the Website, or over availability or over any content or material published or obtained through such websites or how they process personal data; considering the number of such third party websites, Scuola Leonardo da Vinci s.r.l. expressly declines any liability concerning them. The user should check the privacy policy of the third party websites accessible from the Website in order to find out the conditions applying to processing of personal data, since the Scuola Leonardo da Vinci s.r.l. privacy policy applies only to the Website as defined above.
Persistent cookies
Persistent cookies are stored on the user’s device between browser sessions, and remember the preferences or actions of the user on a website. They may be used for different purposes, for example to remember preferences and choices when using the Website.
Essential cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the website. Without these cookies, some parts of the Website will not work. They include, for example, cookies which allow you to access protected areas of the Website. These cookies do not collect information for marketing and cannot be deactivated.
Functional cookies
These cookies are used to recognise a returning visitor to the Website. They allow contents to be customised and preferences to be remembered (for example, the language chosen or the geographical area). These cookies do not collect information which can identify the user. All the information collected is anonymous.
