Useful information about how to get to our Italian language School in Florence
By car
The A1 "Autostrada del Sole" motorway links Milan to Rome. Take the Firenze Nord Exit. For added safety, we recommend to contact your automobile club for information and street map of Florence.
On Italian highways you are expected to pay a toll to the service stations that are open 24 hours a day. On other roads and cities, opening hours of gasoline stations are: 7:30 am to 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Out of these hours, you need to refuel in the self-service gas stations where you can pay with 5, 10, 20 or 50 Euros notes.
Scuola Leonardo da Vinci in Florence is located in Via Bufalini 3, just behind Piazza del Duomo, in the historical centre. This is a restricted traffic zone (ZTL) where it's not possible to drive by car from Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm, and on Saturday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. In Florence, parking areas and garages are extra. By train
There are several night- and Eurocity-day-connections with Italy. People under 26 years may receive special discounts.
Reservations for sleeping car or couchettes should be made as early as possible, since the trains to Italy are often overbooked, especially in summer.
By plane
Closest airports to get to Scuola Leonardo da Vinci in Florence
The airport Florence-Peretola-Amerigo Vespucci (FLR) has connections to the most important international airports as well as the airports of Milan and Rome. Direct busses run from/to Florence Main Railway Station (Firenze S.M.N.) with the ATAF and SITA bus companies. Travel time is about 20 minutes.
From the airport Rome-Fiumicino-Leonard da Vinci (FCO), take the airport train to the "Roma Termini" central railway station. From there, a regular service to the main railway station of Florence is offered. Travel time is about 2 hours.
From Pisa-Galileo Galilei (PSA) airport, you can take a direct train to the main railway station of Florence. When coming back home, you can already check-in your luggage at Florence main railway station (platform 5). Travel time is about 50 minutes.
Transfer to the accommodation
On demand, Scuola Leonardo da Vinci offers a transfer service from the airport/railway station to your accommodation. In case you need a transfer once arrived in Italy, you should indicate it on the enrolment form or write to us at least one week before your arrival. We need specific information about your arrival day, time, flight or train number.
